1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing Placevy (the "Service"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service. It's that straightforward.

We operate at www.placevy.com and provide random address generation from 190+ countries through our website and API.

2. What We Provide

Placevy generates random addresses from our database of real, verified addresses from 190+ countries. Here's exactly what that means:

The Service Includes:

  • • RESTful API access for programmatic generation (API key required)
  • • Address verification API (API key required)
  • • Bulk generation capabilities (signed-in users)
  • • Access to addresses from 190+ countries
  • • Real postal codes, coordinates, and proper formatting

What we DON'T provide: We don't provide addresses for actual shipping, mailing, or official use. These are randomly selected addresses from our database for testing, development, and creative purposes only.

The addresses are real in the sense that they exist in our verified database with authentic postal codes and coordinates. But the specific combinations are randomly generated and not intended for use as actual delivery addresses.

3. Service Tiers and Usage Limits

We offer three tiers. Each has different limits and capabilities.

4. Acceptable Use

Here's what you CAN use our service for:

  • ✓ Populating development databases with realistic test data
  • ✓ Form validation testing
  • ✓ Creating mockups, prototypes, and design samples
  • ✓ Educational purposes and demonstrations

Here's what you CANNOT use our service for:

  • ✗ Actual shipping or mailing to generated addresses

  • ✗ Submitting generated addresses as your real address for official purposes
  • ✗ Evading geographic restrictions or location-based access controls
  • ✗ Violating any laws, regulations, or third-party rights
  • ✗ Attempting to overwhelm, abuse, or attack our infrastructure
  • ✗ Scraping or mass-downloading our database without authorization

Bottom line: Use our addresses for legitimate testing, development, and creative purposes. Don't use them to deceive people, commit fraud, or break laws. If we determine you're violating these terms, we'll terminate your account immediately.

5. Payment Terms

Placevy is free to use. We do not require payment information, and there are no usage-based charges.

If this ever changes, we will update these terms and clearly communicate any new pricing before it applies.

6. API Access and Authentication

Signed-in users get API access with an authentication key. Here's how it works:

  • • You generate API keys from your dashboard
  • • Each request requires your API key in the X-API-Key header
  • • You're responsible for keeping your API keys secure
  • • Don't share keys publicly or commit them to public repositories
  • • You can revoke and regenerate keys anytime
  • • Rate limits apply (documented in our API documentation)

If we detect API abuse (excessive requests, attempted attacks, key sharing), we'll suspend your access without warning.

7. Data and Privacy

Your privacy matters. Here's what data we collect and why:

8. Intellectual Property

Our IP: The Placevy name, logo, website design, API structure, and database compilation are our intellectual property. You can't copy, modify, or redistribute them without permission.

Generated addresses: Once you generate an address, you can use it for any purpose that complies with these terms. The addresses themselves (street names, cities, postal codes) are factual data and not copyrightable.

Your data: You retain all rights to any data you input into our service or create using our service (subject to acceptable use).

9. Service Availability and Warranties

We work hard to keep Placevy online and reliable. But here's the reality:

No guarantees: We provide the service "as is" without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee 100% uptime, error-free operation, or uninterrupted access.

Maintenance: We may perform maintenance, updates, or upgrades that temporarily interrupt service. We'll try to notify you in advance when possible.

Data accuracy: While we maintain a database of verified addresses, we don't guarantee that every generated address currently exists in the real world. Addresses change. Buildings get demolished. Streets get renamed. Use our data for testing and development, not as a definitive source of truth.

10. Limitation of Liability

Let's be clear about this:

We're not liable for any damages arising from your use of Placevy.

This includes direct damages, indirect damages, lost profits, lost data, service interruptions, or anything else that goes wrong.

Maximum liability: If a court determines we are liable for something, our total liability is limited to $0 because the service is free.

Some jurisdictions don't allow liability limitations. If you're in one of those places, the above may not apply to you.

11. Account Termination

You can leave anytime: Delete your account from your dashboard. No questions asked. Your data will be permanently removed within 30 days.

We can terminate your account if:

  • • You violate these terms
  • • You engage in fraudulent or illegal activity
  • • You abuse our API or attempt to attack our infrastructure
  • • We're required to by law

If we terminate your account for violations, you lose access to the service.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms occasionally. When we do:

  • • Your continued use after changes means you accept the new terms

If you don't agree with updated terms, stop using the service and delete your account.
